Trip to Wisconsin...the second installment

OK, now that I finally got my camera back there's a few more pictures...

If you look closely (picture on left) you can see a baby running on a trail in what should be her natural habitat.

First time on the boat with Uncle Kevin.

Hmmm, just woke up from a long nap and I feel like posing. Love the hair! had to get that on film!

Huh? I'm sorry, did you say something about Elmo?

Weee...you can't see but we were actually on the little train that goes in a small loop in Marathon County Park. It had been Kristin's childhood dream to ride this train! Zoey agreed to help make this dream a reality for Aunt Kris.

18 Months Old and a Trip to Wisconsin!

Well, if I had my camera, there are a bunch more photos to post but Uncle Kevin was too busy buying a boat, spraining his ankle, starting another semester of Law School and working to drop off the box at UPS. Oh, I guess I coulda mentioned to him that UPS would pick up the box at his house. So, I guess I'll have a follow up post soon.

I hosted a huge baby shower here..."Aunt B" was babysitting and took some great pictures. Thanks!

The cabin...when looking at photos after the trip, Zoey dubbed it "home". It was a great place...excellent job Kev and Kris. Can't wait for the next trip.

Is someone is in need of relaxation? Or some strong medication??

That's not just some old lump of used towels...that's Zoey on her 3-hour nap while Skipper Kevin took us on a 3-hour tour.

Fun in the boat...on one of our two mildly warm days.

Kaptain Kevin on another tour.

Hmmm, not so sure about this. Nope, (or "note" as Zoey says it) definitely NOT liking the ride on the Tube...I was totally surprised.

Did I mention these two are finally getting married in July? Those are some very special pictures, huh? I'm glad Kristin will finally make an honest man of Kevin!

Mom & Kevin...I meant to get a good picture of all of us but forgot.

On the way back to Kevin & Kristin's house we stopped at a great zoo. Zoey got to feed deer, goats, turtles, rabbits...

VLOG

Does this work? It'll be so cool if it does so you won't all have to log in to You Tube for every new video.

NOT ABOUT ZOEY!!!

This post (because of self consciousness) may not stay posted for too long and I WILL NOT advertise it like I do new Zoey posts so, hmmm. Don't know where I was going with that but...I guess if you are here and actually reading my Blah-Blah-Blog then it was meant to be.

OK, I'm feeling a serious loss of identity so I just wanted to post some pictures of the ME before Z!

To quote a great movie line: "I coulda been a contender. I coulda had class, real class..." because once upon a time, Lisa had a life and an identity beyond the all-consuming (yet loveable and adorable) Zoey.

It took a lot of time to get these photos together but it was a necessary (and not yet finished) catharsis for me. I guess, deep down, I've been resisting the necessity of accepting that this (motherhood) IS permanent and I may never get those parts of me back. Like mouring my own death almost (of the old me as I knew me).

16 Months

Let's start this one off with some history. Far left is Gramma Cheryl (July 1948), middle is me (July 1972) and then Zoey (July 2007) all on the same rocking horse that Bill Hogan (Zoey's late great Grandpa made). Every morning after the Wiggles she has to ride the "YeeSee" (aka horsie) while listening to the Beatles (it's a children's rendition that makes "Uncle" Mike cringe.

And before you look at the next pictures this one will give you a bit of background...that's me November 1971 in a saggy diaper holding a Pabst Blue Ribbon...do they even make that beer anymore?

"Uncle" Mike contributing to the delinquency of my minor. LOL Perfect form in the first picture...Ewww, yuck in the second...but then, WAIT! Zoey just acquired a real taste for Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

These were taken at The Irete's Retreat July 4th BBQ. See archives from last year if interested or checkout http://www.iretesretreat.blogspot.com/

Vogueing in the afternoon sun at the Irete's.

What's a party without injuries...that's my knee. No, I wasn't skydiving into a canyon...I was pushing Zoey on a swing and slipped on the gravel thanks to Rodney Strong and Kendall Jackson.

This is little PZ (aka Princess Zoey) at 10pm after the fireworks (and 3 hours post bedtime) on the ride home...looking quite ready to hit the "after party" if I might add. Luckily, she was asleep as soon as she realized her crib was within eyesight.

Look, everyone! "moooo-aaahhn!" You could see the moon midday and she was sure to point it out to everyone at Marcie's BBQ.

This is the lounge chair created every morning after breakfast so the Princess can watch the Wiggles in comfort.

Another Horsie picture.

And where did she get these curls?
