Getting into a GROOVE yet?

My attempt at creative photography...

"You want me to hold him? OK!"
There's a bunch of these because I couldn't decide which ones were the cutest.

OK, well we're sort of adapting. I laugh at my former self...I thought it was difficult with one kid...wow! Just as I've heard, the difficulty increases exponentially! As I'm writing this we are T minus 5 days until our trip out to Minnesota for Kevin & Kristin's wedding. I've only had about a dozen anxiety attacks per day about the plane trip but, oh well. :-) Lots of photos and I'd like to say that I've made a huge effort NOT to "shaft the 2nd born" in terms of a shoddy photo documentary of early childhood...in my defense (and defending all parent's of 2 or more) there's just no damn time to pick up a camera assuming you have a free hand to do so! So, having said that, here's some pics of JUST Milo!

And some of just Zoey...

OK, what's with the tongue and all these goofy poses, Zoey?

"You should see how the paci pops out of his mouth when I push really hard right here!"
"Aw, but I'll just pretend to kiss him for Momma."

We've had some really hot days and can't go outside with Milo...here's my solution to killing a hot afternoon: Shaving cream, washable bath crayons, water toys, a naked happy kid and cool momma and un-baked baby brother.

Another horsie ride! Thanks Linda, Julia and Landino!

Milo's first Post-Natal 5K but technically his 3rd race. He's stoked...and looks to be doing a Bill Murray imitation. It was this 5K that I decided I really needed to get my knee looked at...turns out I tore the meniscus (back in January while doing laundry) and get to take a nap on the operating table! Yay!

Wish I could post the sound/odor effects to this activity!

Vlog

Sorry I couldn't get all these on the other blog.

This one is a short clip of Zoey imitating Milo when he cries.

And for all our brass playing friends, she's been practicing. She can play the French horn a little too!

And last, but not least. This one is of Zoey playing a game she calls "Soccer Bowling" with Grandpa. It was really hot here for a few days and we couldn't go out with Milo so I had to get a little creative...the game kinda stuck. It's kinda noisy but at least it's not messy.

Milo Photo Installment

Here's the new little man...he's a really easy baby so far. He loves scalp massages, sleep and breasts. LOL I'm not going to broadcast my naivete any more than I can help (as I have in previous posts...even I laugh at myself). I know now that things change as soon as you think you've got them figured out...and that is especially applicable to babies/toddlers/tweens/teens/adults...

And I thought there was no time for me BEFORE! Now my days and nights are now very full of:

Looks a lot like Big Sis in these pictures, huh?

First bath... Don't worry, these are internet appropriate photos...he may be in his birhtday suit, but I'm wearing a swim suit!

I know these are blurry but I love his expression and the way he has his hand under his chin.

Geez, he's either really small or I've got huge hands!

Tired Momma.

Hugs for Momma.

More hugs for Momma (the top view)...OK, I'm desperately reading into it...

Labor Day...Milo's Birthday!

Got up with Zoey a little before 7 and we cuddled, she enjoyed her morning attitude adjustment(aka "Mummaz & Bit" or if you don't speak Zoey's version of Toddlerese I'm talking about nursing and her blanket)...I had a contraction that I blamed on dehydration and/or the nursing for the next 10 minutes until the next one came. Had a few more contrations so we got up made breakfast, did laundry, made beds, dressed Zoey, took a shower...by about 11 I called Becky to watch Zoey and we were off to Sunrise Birthing Center in Ventura. The possibility of traffic was a huge worry for me but we flew up there in record time. I think we got there around 11:30 or noon-ish.

This the midwife, Karni. She was awesome. And so was her assistant...but we didn't get any pictures of her. Here she's listening to Milo through a contraction.

Here's me between contractions...at least until the last few of them.

Here's another one and now it's time for...

Ahhh, the tub!

According to the time stamp on our camera, this was THE push. Water broke and suddenly, his head was out. Karni couldn't get a good angle to rotate his shoulders so she ordered me out of the tub in a surprisingly urgent voice...one I'd never heard from her so I thought something dire had happened. I literally hurdled the side of the tub with his head out. In retrospect, I don't know how I managed that.

But here he is, just seconds old! And everything A-OK.

We're resting in bed again and he's still screaming...what a roller coaster ride he must've had! Poor little guy had a bruises on his face and even on his eyeball from that trip. It happened so fast!

And best of all, we're back home and he's only a few hours old. I got to finish the laundry that night. Woohoo!!

Missed Momma!

Zoey Photo Installment

You are all SO lucky that I cropped myself out of this picture!

Zoey helping Lidia...or rather, Lidia helping me by entertaining Zoey while she works. :-))

These were taken by Becky while I was in labor...She looks like she knows things are going to be different very soon. Thanks Becky! It was great to have you looking out for our #1 while #2 was on his way. I never worried once!

Or maybe not...everything seems OK with Zoey in this picture.

Just being a ham for the camera...

And this isn't the best video...in her defense, she can recite her ABC's in English and Spanish (or Smamish as she calls it) but she's a bit distracted these days.

Last installment from Zoey's 2nd Birthday

OK, grandpa Don and Judy took tons of pictures but I'm assuming they sent the best ones first. This is Zoey at the campground at Lake Casitas showing off her skills.

Here's me driving the boat back to the marina in Santa Barbara after whale watching...I got really queasy and it was hard to tell if it was because of the boat or the movement in my belly.

I think I speak for all when I say that the score is whales 2, humans 0...we didn't see any whales this time either but saw a pod of Pacific White-Sided Dolphins and a ton of seals. Zoey didn't see anything because she (mercifully) fell asleep.

Love those giraffes!

C'mon folks! She SOOOOOO looks like Momma! This is Zoey on the train at the Santa Barbara Zoo...trains are the newest obsession thanks to Charlie and his parents.

Baby Brother

Here's some of the latest pictures of him. We've decided to name him Milo Vincent. We have a month (give or take) before his debut.
