22 Months Old

I know, I'm pretty late with this post. She'll be practically 23 months old by the time I get this published so depending on how many worthwhile pics I get between now and February 9th this may be a dual post...what a slacker I am. But, in my defense, Zoey and I went to Orlando to visit Grandma Cheryl, Ken, Uncle Kevin and Aunt Kristin. I don't have any photos from that trip as of yet. Kevin is supposed to make me a CD and I didn't take along a camera because it was just one more thing to keep track of... But I'll make it up with some VLog.

We went skiing...here's a quick video of two runs of that. We only took about 7 runs down the bunny hill but I'm certain that if we had a week in Aspen she'd be blazing her own path down at least a blue run. After only 2 runs I could almost let go.

We just took this video tonight. Please excuse the piano accompanist (aka Mom). This was taped on the 3rd time through this Nocturne and I laughed so hard each time I almost peed my pants...plus it was really hard to concentrate with Zoey's singing...almost sounds German, which is appropriate for Chopin (or was he French? I can't remember.).

And one last photo...a tribute to Lidia. Zoey adores her (so do I). She's teaching Zoey Spanish and giving me a break a couple times a week.

2nd Christmas

Well, actually, this is her first Christmas since last year we took advantage of the fact that she wouldn't have a clue so we could take one more year "off" from THE most commercial Holiday. Still, she didn't quite understand the idea of Santa and opening presents...but now that the toys are revealed she's having quite a morning playing with all the new stuff. Good luck trying to get her to take a nap today, huh?

Crown (and then some!) compliments of Grandpa Don & Judy (Thank you!)...chocolate by Santa.
Pre chaos...

Cool easel from Aunt Sally & Uncle Sean...and a scooter from Santa!

More stuff from Santa

All the goods! And a stocking full of chocolate!

This was taken before we left for Aunt Darlene & Uncle Jerry's for Sunday pre-Christmas Brunch...I love the outfit! And I know I promised in a previous post that I'd post more pictures of the little-one-in-progress...but if you aren't used to looking at ultrasounds they can look a little creepy so I'll wait until we have a photo that requires a little less imagination.

Zoey the Astronomer

OK, so we aren't calling Mensa yet. And this isn't as amazing as that little 2 year old who can point out hundreds of countries (some I've never heard of) on a map but I think this is really cute...especially since she won't reliably count to ten unless Elmo tells her to and she doesn't know all her letters yet. Performance note: She stubs her toe on the desk in the middle of the recitation but eventually finishes once she regains her composure. LOL

Another Official Announcement...

The new little one will be wearing a suit to Kevin and Kristin's wedding this July! So you can safely assume that it's NOT a girl. We really expected a girl though...I was really looking forward to getting more use out of Zoey's extensive wardrobe but nothing got me in the mood like a shopping trip to clothe the new yet-to-be-named baby boy. Speaking of names...any suggestions?

20 Months Old, Halloween #2 and GO PACKERS!!!

Yeah, don't worry. I won't be one of those parents who, when asked, says their kid is 38.3 months old. Once she's 2 we'll just go in half year increments.

Assume the Sunday game watching position...

No, not that one!

Halloween #2. Zoey was Little Red Riding Hood (but she didn't like her hood much). Only bribery would work for a quick picture of the full outfit. Check out the "Ah-Pop" (lollipop in Zoey-Speak) in the one picture. She held onto that thing for a good 3 days. Even got a flu shot and didn't flinch.

I wanted to be GrandMa but ran out of gas after making this costume...but now that I look at that picture, I guess I hardly needed a costume. YIKES! Had to save some energy to carve that pumpkin...what a pain in the @**!

Hmm, maybe her agent should try to book her for a baby shampoo ad? Uh, that's her hair in a shampoo point on top of her head. Geez, we really need a new camera but I don't want to deal with learning a new one and all the software that might come with it. Who has time?

More Packer spirit!!!

Pretending to do the "Catwalk" modeling my favorite (only) Packer pj's.

Watching Elmo while Aunt Becky babysat

At "gymnastics"...in the foam pit on the left and jumping on the trampoline at right. Coach Katie showed us some flips and seat drops that Zoey loved watching. I hadn't heard her laugh so hard in a long time.

Let this be the official notice...

Hmmm...Will Zoey have a little brother or sister? Guess I need to change the title of the blog. I'm right at 12-13 weeks. Past the first trimester so I can finally make this public knowledge. Here's a picture of the critter who's made me quite ill for 6 weeks. So far the genetic counselor and sonographer say everything looks OK. We're due in mid April.

First Trip to DisneyLand

Waiting, waiting, waiting for the park to open...no idea what's in store at this point.

Not as fun as some other stuff but she's wired now. No walls to climb so why not a pole?

Thanks for being my stunt double on this one! I get queasy just thinking about getting in this ride.

Eyore!!

I HATE THIS GIRLIE RIDE!!!

Hmmm, it really is a small world after all. Pretty deep.

Our "fearless" Disneyland guides! Thanks Becky and Bill! Even Vince admitted to having a good time!

Yeah, been there & done that. I'm not tired at all.

Me neither!

Dude! That was totally awesome!!

GONE, gone, gone...

Below is a zillion pictures of Zoey on the Carousel. Definitely the favorite ride. I think we went on about 8 times.
