Kevin's Graduation

Yeah, this blog is usually about the kids but the fact that this post is kind of about my first vacation since Christmas 2005 I thought it worthy. Well, and also because Uncle Kevin is so awesome. :-))

Before, during and after hooding. Those two in the middle photo look guilty as sin!

Before graduation.

And a Doctoral reception tradition...the Spaghetti Trough. That's not the name of it, but it should be. I don't know if you can see but the pic on the right is the sacrificial spaghetti man.

Just Miscellaneous Pictures

On a Saturday ride on the coast with Nina...now that I see our pictures next to each other it's kinda funny how our taste in riding clothes is so similar...even our cars. Nina in red, me in blue.

Milo trying to escape into the Mustard plants...where I'd need to rent a helicopter to find him. Crazy kid!

I'm not entirely sure what they were up to but it looks like it might have been a special moment. If I remember correctly, someone probably started shrieking as I went to put the camera back.

I just love my tutu's.

And Mama just loves all the $5 tutus she found on sale at Marshalls!

Milo's Second Birthday

Hmmm, I wonder why there aren't more pictures...just a video with some really terrible singing? Oh well. At the end of the birthday clip you will see a prime example of why Milo always has some kind of fat lip or bloody nose.

And a video of Vince playing a game with the kids that they call "High Sky" but I video-ed with the camera sideways. Oops! Anyone know how to edit that? I've got a handful of clips with that particular mistake.

Birthday Photos

Ugh, I'm late posting this month

It totally slipped my mind for the first time in 4 years! Is it really possible that we've been to Magic Mountain twice and DisneyLand once in roughly a month? I guess so, lots of pics of us at those places, so here goes...

Milo wanted nothing to do with the cartoon characters.

Of course, gotta ride the Teacups. No spinning for us but Zach was very willing to oblige Zoey with lots of spinning. That's Zach and Zoey on the left, me Becky and Milo on the left. More teacups below at Magic Mountain.

Both kids loved to drive the cars.

Another favorite at Magic Mountain.
Milo's first "real" roller coaster was not so fun for him.
And the carousel.

Slacker Mom

Just riding along on the bike...oh, wait...gotta take this call. Texting while driving is illegal in California Zoey. Where'd you learn that habit?

And Milo's drinking and driving...seriously, this is why I'm probably dehydrated and hungry all the time. He always steals my water bottles and they both take my protein bars.
We did a race...benefit for Pancreatic Cancer. Zoey checked out the fire truck while waiting for her race to start. Milo wasn't too keen on the delays. That's me saying "get your a** up, what are you? A baby?!" Just kidding.
And they're off!
Sandra, Lidia's oldest daughter pushed the kids for a 5K (and did really well considering she was pushing close to 100lbs) and I suffered to try and get a PR on the 10K.
Below, just some random park play shots.

The Piece de Resistance...I've been working at getting the kids to memorize the Preamble to the Constitution. Here's what we've got so far with Milo.

And Zoey knows it but gets it confused sometimes with the Pledge of Allegiance. She's definitely more exuberant but her attention kinda wanes. After watching this recitation I'm thinking maybe Irish step dance or some kind of cheer leading might be her forte someday.
